Good Domain Names – Long or Short for SEO and SEF Advantage
Yes, a – name – can make a big difference. Old fashion but truth!
Today, short and easy to remember unregistered domain names are difficult to allocate; even finding 3 – 4 letters domain names is like finding needles in the sea. But the good news is long domain names are by no mean less valuable or hard to remember. For example, I don’t think you will forget a domain name such as “GiveMeMoney.Com” or “CreditCard.Com”. How about search engines? Well, try typing in “Credit Card” on Google and you will find ”CreditCard.Com” and “CreditCardGuide.Com”on the first page. With that said, long meaningful domain names may even have SEO – Search Engine Optimization and/or SEF – Search Engine Friendly advantage over the short domain names.
95% of the times, it is just one click away!
OK, you may say what about people just don’t like to type in long domain names/URL? Let me ask you – when was the last time you have to type in a domain name/URL? Most people searching for something relevant at Google or Yahoo, would just click on the relevant results where they are linking to. The same goes for people hanging out at social networking sites. I think you would also agree that if you have your domain name/URL as your default email footer, launching your site will be just one click away from your recipients. Well, don’t shy away from finding good and meaningful domain names that can directly identify your business or occupation; it also increase your site’s search engine visibility as well.
