EBay aims to boost sales with “flash” fashion feature
EBay is launching a feature that is modeled after one-time sample sales that have proved popular for sites such as Rue La La. At eBay’s Fashion Vault, buyers will find limited-time discounts of up to 50% on designer fashions. Post-recession consumer adopts new shopping patterns
As they begin to spend again, American consumers aren’t shopping the way they did before the downturn, according to a new study from WSL Strategic Retail. Online retail sales continue to grow
U.S. e-commerce increased 11% last year to surpass $155 billion in sales, according to Forrester Research. The company is forecasting 11% growth this year as well. The research and forecast show that e-commerce growth is starting to cool, although online sales growth is outpacing that of total retail. “There are still high levels of growth. But we are on a much bigger base now,” said Sucharita Mulpuru, e-commerce analyst at Forrester. The Wall Street Journal/Digits blog
